1. What this website uses
The public pages are generated statically; the contact and book appraisal forms send data to the bookshop’s backend, and the restricted area uses server-side services. Google Analytics 4 is prepared for the public website and loads only after optional consent to the “Analytics” category. Advertising, profiling and form-submission events are not intended. The forms and restricted area use necessary session and request-protection cookies to secure submissions, provide login and manage the authenticated session.
2. Consent preference
The browser’s local storage (localStorage), rather than a profiling cookie, remembers your consent choices about the map and Analytics for 180 days. After that, the banner appears again and asks you to choose. You can also change your choices at any time using the Silktide Consent Manager preferences icon. A manually selected language is remembered in localStorage under demetra.locale without an expiry; without a saved choice, the browser’s primary language is used. This is not profiling.
3. Consent manager
The banner uses Silktide Consent Manager 2.0.1, served directly by this website with SRI integrity checks: loading it does not contact Silktide or an external CDN. Categories and the date of your choice are stored in localStorage under stcm.demetra.consent.* and stcm.demetra.choiceRecordedAt. After 180 days, consent keys are cleared and the banner asks you to choose again. Manual language selection uses demetra.locale without an expiry. These details are not used for profiling. For information about the project, visit the official Silktide Consent Manager website .
4. Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 is prepared for the public website and remains off locally and in previews. On the public domain, its tag loads only after explicit consent to the optional “Analytics” category. It sends page views with URLs stripped of query strings and fragments; it does not send form contents or submission events, and advertising signals are disabled. Google may set analytics cookies or identifiers and process technical and usage data. The property retains event data for 2 months and user data for 14 months, resetting on new activity. For more information, see Google’s privacy policy.
5. Google Maps
The Contact page includes an interactive map provided by Google Maps. By default, the map does not load and no request is made to this external service. The map loads only after the “Functionality” category is accepted. Google may then process technical data, such as your IP address and browser information, and use its own cookies or similar tools. For further information, see Google’s privacy policy .
6. Managing your choice
You can decline the map and continue to use the website. You can reopen the preferences panel and change your choice, or clear website data in your browser settings. Declining the map does not prevent you from reading the address or voluntarily opening directions using the external Google Maps link.
7. Updates
This policy will be updated if services, cookies or tracking technologies change. Before public release, the property settings, blocking before consent and cookies actually set will be checked again.
